Persistent precipitation over the last seven days have intensified the already dire living conditions of the many hundreds of thousands of uprooted residents in the territory, as stated by aid agencies.
A representative characterized the previous night's conditions as "terrible", with downpours so severe that as much as 15cm (6in) of water accumulated on the streets.
"Last night was exceptionally horrendous for the people. The storms were so strong... And the gusts were so strong," noted the spokesperson.
Officials express significant worry that minors living in makeshift shelters in damp clothing will succumb to hypothermia and various illnesses.
The health ministry have stated that one baby has succumbed from exposure and at least 11 other people have lost their lives in building collapses due to the storms.
Further statements put a greater fatality count. Spokespeople stated that numerous structures had totally fallen and dozens had been partly destroyed.
Organizations have increased distribution of tarpaulins, blankets and clothes after the truce started, but they stress there is continues to be not enough aid entering.
"Officials are working relentlessly to provide that assistance and to allocate it, but the scale of the requirements is so enormous that we continue to see thousands of people and children who are truly struggling each evening," cautioned one spokesperson.
The next stage of the agreement includes arrangements for the reconstruction of Gaza, along with post-war governance, the pullback of troops, and other provisions.
Humanitarian bodies have underscored the necessity for "greater and continuous humanitarian assistance to respond to urgent and future requirements."
The conflict was triggered by an offensive in late 2023. Following campaigns have resulted in a substantial number of lives lost in the area, based on health ministry reports.
