Mohamed Salah Issues Regret to Teammates, Says Curtis Jones
The Liverpool midfielder has shared that the Egyptian forward apologised to the group of players in the wake of the uproar from his televised remarks.
What Happened
Salah was left out from a European match subsequent to voicing frustrations and claiming his rapport with Arne Slot had deteriorated.
“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, I apologise.’”
The head coach has previously declined to comment publicly on whether he was apologised to from the player.
Team Unity
Jones insisted that the squad's reaction stayed normal. “He was the exact same Mo, he was smiling and it was business as usual,” Jones added.
The midfielder also implied that a player's desire to start is less of an issue. “I get that there are different methods you can express yourself,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just be on the bench, then I think that’s more of an issue.”
Team Form
Their results have stayed unbeaten in the games following the initial controversy. The player is convinced the outburst were not intended to destabilise the squad.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, it has consistently come from a desire to win,” Jones concluded. “We’re past that now and we’re gelling well as a team, performing and securing victories.”
