Enthusiasts looking forward to the arrival of Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined don't need to wait the full month. A highly anticipated trial experience is set to go live on the seventh of January, granting a sizable look into the game's opening hours. Critically, any save data earned within this demo can be transferred directly into the complete game upon its February release.
This title represents a from-scratch re-envisioning of the landmark year 2000 RPG, initially released as Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past. Such alterations are designed to address one of the original game's frequent points of feedback: its considerable length. That initial main quest could easily require over 100 hours to complete. This new edition was specifically structured to enhance progression and reduce perceived filler.
Curious adventurers will be able to begin exploring the reimagined world of DQ7 for themselves when the free demo releases on Wednesday, January 7th. Subsequently, the complete game, Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined, is then set to arrive on 5th February 2026. It will be released on a wide selection of systems, including Switch, Switch 2, PS5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X.
